⚠️ Important disclaimer — informational tool only, not investment advice.

isitalpha is an informational and statistical tool. It analyzes the return numbers you provide and outputs a statistical verdict about their historical robustness. It does not provide investment, financial, legal, accounting, or tax advice; does not recommend, endorse, or solicit any security, asset, strategy, or transaction; does not manage money, hold assets, or execute trades; and does not predict or guarantee future results. isitalpha is not a broker-dealer, investment adviser, fund, or financial institution, and no fiduciary or advisory relationship is created by your use of it.

A verdict such as "REAL" is a statement about past statistical properties of the numbers you submitted only — it is not a promise, projection, or assurance of profit, and past performance does not indicate future results. Trading and investing involve substantial risk of loss, including total loss. All decisions are your own and made at your own risk. Consult an appropriately licensed professional before acting on any financial matter.

1. Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you ("you", "user") and the operator of isitalpha.com (the "Service", "we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms, the Disclaimer above, and the Privacy Policy below. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1.1 What the Service does

You paste a series of return numbers. The Service runs them through statistical checks (including purged/embargo cross-validation, deflated Sharpe with a multiple-testing penalty, cost modeling, and tail/CVaR analysis) and returns a verdict (REAL / SELF-DECEPTION / DEAD / BORDERLINE / INSUFFICIENT). A free verdict word is provided; a full report is available for a one-time fee. The Service acts purely on the numeric data you supply and forms no view about you, your identity, or any actual security or portfolio.

1.2 Not financial advice; no professional relationship

The Service is informational and statistical only. Nothing it outputs is investment, financial, legal, or tax advice or a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold anything. Use of the Service does not create any advisory, brokerage, fiduciary, agency, or professional relationship between you and us. You are solely responsible for your own decisions and for obtaining independent licensed advice.

1.3 Eligibility & acceptable use

1.4 Intellectual property

The Service, its software, statistical methodology, text, design, and branding are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose. No other rights are granted. You retain any rights you have in the return numbers you submit; you grant us only the limited right to process them to compute and deliver your verdict/report.

1.5 No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability, availability, or non-infringement. Statistical methods have inherent limitations; results depend entirely on the data you provide, may contain errors, and may be incomplete or unsuitable for your purposes. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

1.6 Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

1.7 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Service and its operator, affiliates, and suppliers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use or misuse of the Service; (b) your breach of these Terms or any law; (c) your reliance on any output; or (d) your infringement of any third-party right.

1.8 Third-party services

Payments are processed by a third-party processor (NOWPayments). We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, availability, terms, or privacy practices of third-party services, and your use of them is subject to their own terms.

1.9 Changes & termination

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service or these Terms at any time, with or without notice. The "Last updated" date reflects the current version; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. We may restrict or terminate access for actual or suspected abuse or breach. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 1.2, 1.4–1.8, 1.10–1.15) survive.

1.10 Governing law & dispute resolution

You agree first to attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting us; most concerns can be resolved quickly this way. Any dispute not resolved informally shall be governed by, and resolved in the courts or arbitration of, the operator's place of establishment. [Governing-law jurisdiction and any binding-arbitration clause to be finalized on formation of the operating legal entity.] Nothing here deprives a consumer of mandatory protections of the law of their country of residence.

1.11 Force majeure

We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, outages, network or infrastructure failures, third-party service failures, cyber-attacks, or governmental action.

1.12 Severability; 1.13 Entire agreement; 1.14 No waiver; 1.15 Assignment

2. Privacy Policy

🔒 We do not see your strategy.

You paste only return numbers — never your code, logic, or parameters. We cannot reconstruct your strategy from returns, and we do not ask you to reveal it. We deliberately collect almost nothing tied to your identity.

2.1 What we process, why, and on what legal basis

2.2 What we do not do

2.3 Retention & security

We practice data minimization: we keep only what is needed and only for as long as needed. Submitted numbers are processed to produce your result and are not retained for profiling; technical logs are kept transiently for security and then rotated/deleted. We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data, though no method is perfectly secure.

2.4 International processing

The Service and its processor may operate infrastructure in various locations. Where personal data (such as an IP address in logs) is processed across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards and lawful transfer mechanisms as required by applicable law.

2.5 Your rights

GDPR (EEA/UK): where applicable, you have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing, and to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Because we intentionally collect almost nothing tied to your identity, most requests are satisfied simply by our not retaining your submissions.

CCPA/CPRA (California): you have rights to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to non-discrimination for exercising them. We do not sell or share personal information.

To exercise any right, contact us (see Contact). We do not charge for legitimate requests and will respond within the time required by law.

3. Cookies & local storage

We use only strictly necessary, functional storage — specifically your browser's localStorage to remember your paid order so your report unlocks on your device. We do not use advertising, analytics, profiling, or third-party tracking cookies. Because this storage is strictly necessary to provide the service you requested, no cookie-consent banner is required under the EU ePrivacy rules; this notice serves as your disclosure. You can clear this storage in your browser at any time (doing so may require re-entering your order reference).

4. Refund Policy

The full report is a digital good delivered instantly upon payment confirmation. By purchasing, you request immediate delivery and acknowledge that you thereby lose any statutory right of withdrawal/"cooling-off" that would otherwise apply to digital content once delivery has begun. Accordingly, sales are generally final and non-refundable. However, in good faith:

To request a refund under the above, contact us with your order reference within 14 days of payment. Nothing here limits any non-waivable statutory consumer rights that apply to you.

5. Operator

The Service is currently operated by an individual sole proprietor. For all legal, privacy, and support matters, the operator can be reached at the contact address below, which is the official point of contact and the address for data-subject and consumer requests. The operator's full legal identity and registered address are available to competent authorities and to users with a legitimate legal need on request, and will be published here upon formation of the operating legal entity. This page will be updated at that time with the entity name, registration details, governing law, and any VAT/registration numbers.
